This image captures something many people suppress: the deep human need for self-actualization and absolute privacy beneath an open sky, right in the middle of a city overflowing with people, noise, tourists, spectators, sun-seekers, and the hectic rush of what is supposed to be rest. And yet, he stands there. Statuesque, as if carved from time itself, marked by days gone by and far beyond the need to care about what others might think. He stands there, every day. While the mirror behind him reflects not just sunlight, but almost grotesquely echoes a feeling back to the viewer, like a hologram of something long forgotten. A moment suspended between dignity and absurdity, solitude and exposure.
